In the Game

Our mission is to help us all return to the climate of the First Century Church. A climate where we come together and help each other in the name of, and with, the teaching of Jesus Christ.  We choose to pursue our mission by helping churches help people.  We encourage churches to reach out to people who live in the “neighborhood” of the church.  Like the intertwining circle formed when you throw rocks in a pond, we believe we can intertwine neighborhoods, with other neighborhoods, with yet more neighborhoods, into communities of caring believers and reach around the world.   We have seen it happen.

The needs that exist are indeed profound but we know at WINN that resources are plentiful. They just need to be gathered, networked and distributed.  We need your help. Please take some time to pray about getting involved.  Become an involved neighbor now.  Join with us to come together so that the Body of Christ will overcome and become His hands, His feet, His heart in action.

On the Field

Over 8,000 people gathered in downtown Denver on July 26 for the first annual March of Glory parade:

"On foot and on floats they marched over 2 miles through downtown Denver speaking blessing to the heart of this metropolitan area.   They were greeted by people on the street cheering and clapping at some points.   On each float were people proclaiming Papa’s glory and His wondrous works.   At one point when the march was in front of the state capital, everyone stopped and knelt down.  Even people who weren’t part of the march were seen kneeling on the sidewalks.           "After the march many people stayed and gathered in Civic Center park.  Bands played, saints proclaimed and everyone rejoiced.  One of the ministers spoke to the crowd proclaiming the good news and inviting anyone who wanted to come to Jesus to come down to the front of the amphitheater.  300 people responded and made Jesus the Lord of their lives!!!” by John Plummer.

The paragraphs above are an excerpt from the blog of John Plummer, a friend and brother who was with me and 8,000 + of our friends July 26th in Denver.  For more of the story go to http://abbagod.wordpress.com/.     I also suggest that you look at the U Tube video links at http://nz.youtube.com/watch?v=C41ScUT5b2g. If you didn't make it this time, I'm sure we'll see you there next year!   -- Hank

The Cheer

The Future

We watched the weather forecast, packed our camper, and headed to the mountains for a cool, refreshing 5-day vacation. What we planned for and expected isn't what happened. Instead, every afternoon the sky grew overcast, rumbled fiercely, and occasionally poured on us. The air was hot and sullen (like our dispositions) and the flies were nasty and biting (okay, also like some of our dispositions!). Not quite what we'd counted on.

God really IS the only one who knows the weather. He's also the only one who knows the number of our days, what tomorrow holds, and what lies buried in the heart of man. There are scary days ahead for us as a world and as a nation. There may be scary days ahead for you personally. Not only are they not to be feared, but they're not to be faced until you get there. ( Mt 6:34) They also don't catch God by surprise (Heb 4:13).

We live one breath at a time; it's all we can be certain of. We are to prepare, but not fear. Dream but not dread. Hope and not despair. Above all, keep Him firmly in the center of your life. Isaiah 14:24 "The LORD of hosts has sworn saying, 'Surely, just as I have intended so it has happened, and just as I have planned so it will stand.'"

One of my favorite billboard quotes::  "I don't have to fear tomorrow; God is already there."
