In the Game

"As I have gathered data, I have found that journaling (recording your thoughts) is not a common practice among men. This isn't a teenage 'diary' but a solid, mature record to look back on. We'll be able to 'see' how God has answered specific prayers. This gives credit where credit is due and reminds us that He DOES answer our prayers. (We sometimes need that kick in the pants to jog our memories!) It also serves as a reminder of what we needed to pray for during different seasons of our life.

"Another reason for journaling has to do with being specific in our prayer requests. Most men do not like to write, so by journaling they will clarify though brevity. This helps focus and refine our thoughts. Best of all, it means that you will be seeing the things that are in your heart. What your mind conceives, and your heart believes, CAN be accomplished! " -- excerpt from "PRAY 15" coming soon!

On the Field

Personhood Campaign - Phase II Kickoff! On Thursday, May 29th, the Secretary of State's Office certified the Colorado Personhood Amendment for the ballot.  According to their numbers, over 103,000 signatures were valid.  This is over 130% of the required number! Saturday, June 14th at 6:30pm is the Campaign Kickoff & Potluck Dinner at Power Invasion Church, 455 S Platte River Dr, Denver 80223. For more info contact Kristi Burton at 719-661-8827, e-mail: kristiburton@gmail.com., or go to www.personhoodcolorado.com.

What?! Still looking? Yes, we're continuing the search for a building to house our offices and warehouse. We're hoping to accommodate the growing Ministry Center so we're searching for a place with great potential. The warehouse needs to have a wide dock entryway for our freezer. Please email possibilities to Hank at hank@winnministries.org or phone 303-239-9123.

Game Strategy

What keeps your dependent families from moving forward? Lack of employment? Medical needs? Loss of hope? Hank has suggestions to help you conduct low-impact interviews that will help you voice your concern instead of sounding like an interrogation. With the combined experience and training as a sociologist, law enforcement officer and minister of the Gospel, WINN director Hank Salmans has successfully defused many crises head-on. We have ideas to help empower your congregation, even for those facing some of life's most challenging struggles. We'd like to help you get through the tough stuff.

The Huddle

Potluck, Praise & Prayer is back! Beginning Friday, June 20, WINN will again be hosting a monthly dinner. This one will be in conjunction with folks from the National Day of Prayer team at The Coffeehouse, 3401 W. Alameda (one block west of El Shaddai Church). Members from several worship teams will be present. Hope you are too!

Set Free Mile High Church is holding services on Saturday evenings at 5:30 PM at the WINN building: 125 South Kalamath, Denver. Pastor Doc Winters will be speaking. For questions call: 303-239-9123. ALSO note that on the 4th Saturday of every month this congregation will be holding an outreach with City Church in conjunction with WINN at the same location beginning at 3pm.

The New Community Christian Church youth group will be joining City Church and Set Free Mile High for an outreach on Sunday, June 29.

Refreshment Stand

We're buried in stuff! If your congregation has a need, we have an abundance of some things we need to move out asap! We have boxes of children's slippers, toys, holiday items, tile grout, weed killer, and 3-ring binders, to name a few! Call Pastor Doc if we can load up your vehicle!

Our Friday lunches enable us to get better acquainted with our "neighbors." Why not stop by for a visit from noon to 1pm and join us? We'd love to have you as our guest at the WINN office at 125 S. Kalamath, Denver.

We're still here and still have our same mission: to provide churches with the resources to meet the needs of their neighbors. We remain committed to helping YOU reach others for Christ. Our provision department is still functioning, even though we've had to become more creative and might need a little more time. Our Resource Network is fully available and so are opportunities for training seminars, either at the WINN office or at your congregation or group location. We're here for you!

COMPUTERS! We accept monitors for recycling with a $5 donation for each. We also have some working Pentium 3 computers available to churches to distribute. Call Al Throckmorton at 303-239-9123.

The Cheer

The next time someone answers you with a sarcastic, "WhatEVer!" here are a few "whatevers" to bring to mind:

"Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things."

Philippians 4:8
