Mountair Christian Church

We have partnered for some time now with Mountair Christian Church. They are good friends of ours, and we were touched that they mentioned us in one of their recent newsletters:

WINN (We're Involved Neighbors Now) AND OUR FOODBANK

Our relationship with WINN began in the Autumn of 2000. They have graciously provided us with three different volunteer youth groups who have canvassed our neighborhood on our behalf. (The Martinez-McKenzie Clan is here because of that canvas!) WINN has helped us find furniture and supplies for those in need and gave us our outdoor table & chairs. Each week they share with us whatever they have so we can provide as many as 30 boxes per week for people in our neighborhood.

The FOOD BANK couldn't happen without some very dedicated MCC volunteers. Cletus King, Mary Riney, The Rodneys, and many others faithfully show up on Thursday mornings. Neighborhood volunteers also help out. The supplies are picked up from WINN, then unloaded here, sorted, and packed for the families to pick up here at the church. Some of the boxes are re-loaded and delivered to shut-ins. It is hard work and more help is always welcomed! With the help of WINN and some dedicated Mountair volunteers, we are reaching beyond our walls and into the world. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
